Men’s Breakfast & Bible Study – Wednesday mornings at 8:00 a.m. at the hospital café – 707 S University Ave, Beaver Dam, W
September 3rd is Missions Sunday. Although we do not want to forget our missionaries in prayer and financial support, today we are taking a special offering for Convoy of Hope, the relief arm of the Assemblies of God and their relief efforts in Texas. If you wish to donate to Convoy, mark “Texas” at top of offering envelope.
9/3/17 ~ Many thanks to the very generous people of Praise Assembly of God. Our offering for Convoy of Hope Houston today for disaster relief was $700 and has been sent for immediate distribution. Let the trucks roll! God bless you for your compassionate hearts and generous giving.
I’m sure we have all seen the images on TV of the devastation in Texas. It is hard to watch without having a sense of needing to do something about it. I believe it was when Hurricane Katrina hit in Louisiana in ’05 that our then Assemblies of God General Superintendent, Thomas Trask sent an appeal to churches citing “two arms” of response, one was the arm of prayer, to pray for those affected by the disaster and for the safety and well being of all those trying to help; and the other arm was the arm of giving. We responded with our prayers and our giving. Some from our community went down later to help with construction projects. I’m sure the need will be ongoing. Please be in prayer for Texas and the great need that is there. Then, I think we will take a second offering on Sunday to put toward our A/G relief response organization, Convoy of Hope. They have already been there from the very beginning of the disaster. ~ Pastor Carey
